CeramTec Switzerland welcomed participants to its 11th Zeramex Meet & Learn, bringing together experts and partners for an afternoon dedicated to ceramic implant dentistry, scientific developments and practical insights.

The event opened with an introduction to CeramTec Switzerland by Dr. Ina Wüstefeld, Managing Director of CeramTec Switzerland. This was followed by a presentation from Dr. Ina Lackner, Scientific Affairs Manager at CeramTec Group, entitled “Ceramics in Dental Applications: Material Properties, Biological Advantages and Future Technologies.” Dr. Lackner also presented findings from a study conducted in collaboration with two Italian research groups, focusing on the cytocompatibility, bacteriostatic activity and osteogenic potential of clinically relevant zirconia surfaces. In particular, the ATZ samples showed promising results regarding bacteriostatic activity and bone cell growth. The study is expected to be published soon.

The scientific program continued with an update by Mike Moynihan, Director International Sales at CeramTec Switzerland, on the latest clinical studies involving Zeramex XT. Among the studies presented was the retrospective study by Mehnert et al. (2026), which evaluated the clinical and radiographic outcomes of the two-piece ceramic implant system over a 24-month follow-up period. The study reported a 100% implant survival rate and a 93.2% success rate.1

The program also included a production site tour and hands-on session led by Zacharias Trypakis, Product Manager at CeramTec Switzerland, providing participants with practical information on the Zeramex XT system and its application.

The 11th edition provided a platform for exchanging knowledge, discussing current scientific and clinical developments in ceramic implant dentistry, and strengthening the dialogue with international partners and colleagues.
